Alex van der Ster is a seasoned procurement and supply chain executive with a distinguished career spanning global markets, high-stakes negotiations, and strategic business development. With over two decades of experience, he has successfully led organizations through complex international operations, driving profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Currently, Alex serves as Managing Partner at Ace Supply and Provision in Dubai, where he oversees procurement, supply chain operations, commercial contracts, and business development. Since joining in 2021, he has played a pivotal role in the company’s rapid expansion, refining strategies that have delivered exceptional financial results while positioning the company for long-term success in a highly competitive industry.

In addition to his leadership at Ace Supply and Provision, Alex is the Owner of Star Agents & Services B.V. in the Netherlands, where he provides strategic management consulting to companies operating in remote regions and specialized sectors such as government and defense. His expertise in procurement, supply chain optimization, and commercial strategy has made him a trusted advisor for businesses navigating complex logistical and operational challenges.

Previously, as Managing Director of B&S Köpcke Global from 2010 to 2020, Alex led global operations, driving exponential growth and expanding the company’s footprint in critical markets. Under his leadership, the company supplied foodstuffs to U.S. and NATO contingency operations across Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East, earning a strong reputation for reliability and operational excellence. During his tenure, the company achieved outstanding financial results and received exceptional customer feedback, reflecting his ability to deliver scalable and sustainable business solutions.

As part of the B&S management team, Alex played an instrumental role in shaping the strategic direction of multiple companies under the B&S umbrella, contributing to a combined annual turnover exceeding $500 million. He worked closely with senior leadership to develop commercial policies and streamline internal operations, ensuring efficiency and profitability across diverse business units.

Earlier in his career, Alex served as Procurement Director at B&S Global F&B Purchase, leading a team of over 20 procurement professionals in strategic vendor negotiations and global sourcing initiatives. He was responsible for managing key relationships with major consumer brands and developing private-label products that strengthened the company’s market presence.

His foundation in international procurement was established at Firma Bosman/Holland in Spijkenisse, where he managed global purchasing contracts and logistics exceeding $100 million annually. These early experiences laid the groundwork for his expertise in international trade, contract negotiation, and supply chain management.

Alex holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield, UK, and a Bachelor's degree from the University for Economic Studies Rotterdam (H.E.S.), Netherlands.
